We’re excited to announce that we’re hiring for two summer student positions this year: Volunteer Coordinator and Festival Marketing Assistant.

These positions are made possible under the Canada Summer Jobs Program. According to the program guidelines, applicants must:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age
• Have been registered as a full-time student during the previous academic year.
• Intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year.
• Be a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program.
• Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*
• Be legally entitled to work according to Newfoundland and Labrador legislation and regulations.
(* Foreign students are unfortunately not eligible.)

Volunteer Coordinator

8 weeks • 30 hours/week • $11.15/hr

As volunteer coordinator you’ll play a vital role in gathering and scheduling volunteers, and, as the main point of contact, provide ongoing support to the festival’s volunteers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be highly organized, and demonstrate confidence communicating with peers, festival staff, and festival-goers. You’re social media savvy, a natural problem solver, and enjoy working with a great team, as well as independently. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! Festival Marketing Assistant

8 weeks • 30 hours/week • $11.15/hr

As the festival marketing assistant you’ll work with staff to implement the festival’s marketing and communications plan by assisting with promotion, production and distribution of marketing materials, and outreach activities. In accordance with this plan, you will help to grow and diversify the festival audience and foster community relationships by planning and executing targeted communications and campaigns that connect specific community groups, associations, businesses and clubs to relevant festival films. The ideal candidate has a keen interest in marketing and design, be creatively driven, and highly organized. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment alongside festival staff, as well as with a high degree of independence. Start date would be early May.
