Ten provinces.
Ten years.
Ten spotlights.

That’s the idea behind The Nickel Independent Film Festival’s Spotlight Series. Our goal is to shine the spotlight on ten short films from each of Canada’s ten provinces over the course of ten years. That’s 100 Canadian-made short films to bask in the spotlight by the time the Nickel’s Spotlight Series wraps in 2021.

A special curator from each province will act as a provincial programmer, select ten splendid shorts, and send them our way. Our mission is to share the unique culture of each province and applaud the rich diversity of Canadian independent filmmaking and filmmakers.
