The Nickel Independent Film Festival has teamed up with Lawnya Vawnya to present The 48-Hour Banana Vacuum Video Challenge — a creative challenge to create a music video in just one weekend. It’s free to take part and open to everyone.
Banana Vacuum is a St. John’s punk band with an eight-year-old lead singer. They sing fun, short songs about bananas, avocados, not liking school and being very tired. For this challenge participating teams will be assigned one of the band’s twenty original songs to interpret in video form over just one weekend.
The challenge will start at 8pm on May 17 when each team will be assigned a Banana Vacuum song to work from. They’ll have until 8pm on May 19th to complete the video.
The number of teams is limited to 20. Submitted videos must be appropriate for an audience of all ages. The band members themselves will not be available for filmmakers. More rules listed below.
