As The Earth Turns
In 1930’s Seattle, Richard H. Lyford was an aspiring young filmmaker who used his own equipment to make 9 movies. Unreleased until now, the silent sci-fi film As the Earth Turns was an obvious labour of love for the 20-year-old Lyford and his friends. The film portrays the main character, PAX, as a scientist with the singular goal of world peace. With intense focus, he manipulates the world’s climate from his secret base in Labrador to fulfil his mission. It falls on a young newspaper reporter to stop PAX from destroying himself and the rest of the world as he pursues his mission. Lyford eventually went to work for Disney and won an Academy Award in 1950 for his documentary work. Director & Writer: Richard H. Lyford • Producer: Richard H.
