Q&A: Ba Baa Shangri La

Q&A: Ba Baa Shangri La
With Nicola Hawkins

How did this film come together?
Every spring local famers take their sheep by small boat to a small island off the Southern Shore for summer grazing. It was an attractive no budget project, hanging out with sheep in my neighbourhood.

Did anything unexpected happen as you were making this film?
We think off lambs being born in the Spring. It was a surprise when we went to collect the sheep late in the fall there was a newly born healthy lamb in the flock.

What's the best filmmaking advice you've ever received?
Involve others! It takes a community to raise a film. I learnt this after making Ba Baa Shangri La!

Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Thanks to the Nickel for maintaining grassroots positivity!
