DIY Sci-Fi Challenge 2026
Make a sci-fi short film between June 11–21, 2026. Free, open to all, and not a contest. Finish a film and receive two free passes to the festival, happening June 22–28 at the LSPU Hall in St. John's.
How It Works
- On June 11, we will email you two completely optional creative prompts. (Use one as a jumping-off point if you like, or ignore them entirely.)
- Write, shoot, and edit your film between June 11–21. Max 5 minutes, titles and credits included.
- Upload your finished film by 6:30pm on June 21 to qualify for the screening.
- All valid entries will screen at the Nickel Independent Film Festival on June 26 at the LSPU Hall!
