An Interview With The Devil — a Q&A with Peter Collins

An Interview With The Devil — a Q&A with Peter Collins

A rights advocate descends into a shuttered prison to interview a forgotten inmate whose story slides uneasily from true-crime confession into demonic testimony. A suspenseful local horror with strong performances from Rob Monette and Una Hill-McMullin.

An Interview With The Devil screens in Things Get Weird on Friday, June 26 at 10:00pm at LSPU Hall.

How did your film come together?

What if you couldn't die, but found yourself locked away in isolation? That simple idea popped into my head one day, and the rest of the story quickly came together afterwards.

Did anything unexpected happen as you were making this film?

Surprisingly, no. The only unexpected thing was that nothing unexpected happened.

What’s the best filmmaking advice you’ve ever received?

Roll with the punches. Things will happen that you can't predict and you have to be able to know when to adapt and move forward, and when to stick to your guns and trust your vision.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

This film was a total blast to shoot. I was able to get to a place with the actors where they took the material and ran with it, and I could see the project come to life before my eyes.
