Me and The Spaceman — a Q&A with Eric Elliott

Me and The Spaceman — a Q&A with Eric Elliott

A grieving mother follows a mysterious spaceman on a search for a missing rocket ship — a journey that slowly becomes a way of facing the loss of her young son. This Newfoundland sci-fi drama blends family warmth with cosmic imagery to tell a story about letting go.

Me and The Spaceman screens in Striking Out the Boys on Sunday, June 28 at 7:00pm at LSPU Hall.

How did your film come together?

It was a capstone film for my time at the local film school. My friends and I shot it over the course of three days and all worked together to bring the movie to life.

Did anything unexpected happen as you were making this film?

Large snowfall the day before filming. We had to roll anyways.

What’s the best filmmaking advice you’ve ever received?

"At the end of the day, the movie got made".
