Technophobic — a Q&A with Yasmine Majchrzak

Technophobic — a Q&A with Yasmine Majchrzak

A lavish dinner party turns quietly menacing when Jacob realizes his girlfriend's family has an old-fashioned — and deeply unsettling — way of settling arguments. An absurdist dark comedy that plays on our inability to escape the allure of modern technology, despite our fears about it.

Technophobic screens in Things Get Weird on Friday, June 26 at 10:00pm at LSPU Hall.

How did your film come together?

We made Technophobic on a tiny budget with a great group of cast and crew who went above and beyond to make this film happen.

Did anything unexpected happen as you were making this film?

Everything was incredibly smooth if I'm being honest. It was a great shoot and a lot of fun to make.

What’s the best filmmaking advice you’ve ever received?

Just make something!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

We both worked at an off-grid research camp with no internet but a series of encyclopedias to settle our debates. This experience definitely inspired the film.
