Films from Nickel 2026 you can watch online

Six films from this year's programme are now streaming — some free, some paid — with more likely to follow as filmmakers wrap up their festival tours. Here's what we've tracked down so far.

Balconada by Iva Tokmakchieva — the Bulgarian-French animated short that took the Vimeo Staff Pick Award at Aspen Shortsfest. Free on Vimeo.

The Muse by Wanda Nolan — streaming free on NFB. Winner of the Canadian Screen Award for Best Short Documentary.

We Were the Scenery by Christopher Radcliff — free on Short of the Week. Sundance Short Film Jury Prize for Nonfiction, Academy Awards shortlist.

Uiksaringitara (Wrong Husband) by Zacharias Kunuk — on Apple TV. Won Best Canadian Film at TIFF 2025.

Luz Diabla by Canda / Boffo / Plaza — Vimeo On Demand.
