Right Here in King's Point 2025

Welcome to the third edition of Right Here in King's Point! This collection features 10 short films created by residents in the Green Bay area over just one week this August 2025. Right Here in ___ is a project by the Nickel Independent Film Festival that brings authentic community film festivals to rural areas of Newfoundland and Labrador. We believe every community has stories worth telling, and we're here to help people tell them. In King's Point (population 653), we spent a week working with local filmmakers—most of them complete beginners—to create these short films. Our goal with this project is to celebrate the unique stories, traditions, and people that make each community distinct. No fancy equipment, no big budgets—just authentic storytelling from the people who know these places best.
